Case Study 4

International Bank, City of London

Challenge

To replace and combine the customer’s two existing legacy access control systems, which had a total of over 220 access controlled doors across their two sites. The system’s server and client software, plus the systems hardware, needed to provide the latest Cyber Security protocols to satisfy the customer’s rigid internal audit rules.

Both of the two existing access control systems and the new combined access control system had to run simultaneously to maintain the customer’s high level security requirements, during the whole changeover process.

Solution

Following a current market appraisal, C•CURE 9000 from Software House was chosen. Software House’s next generation G2 IStar Ultra door controllers were installed, to replace the existing legacy door access control units. These provide a very high level of Cyber Security by using fully encrypted network communications.

The customer’s two existing separate cardholder databases were firstly merged together and then imported into the new system’s database. This process saved the customer’s team onsite considerable time compared to entering all the cardholder’s information from scratch.

Our team also designed a personalised cardholder entry page for the C•CURE 9000 client software, including custom drop down boxes to assist the customer’s access control administration team to maintain accurate cardholder records.

End Result

The new system was installed and commissioned within the customer’s schedule and on budget. The customer now also enjoys the benefits of having one centralised system for their entire access control management.
